Melancholic longing, idealized physique, and the delicate transparency of lace are amalgamated into intuitive, concise and patina-heavy compositions that aim to equate numinous with homoerotic, defying the toxic authority, subverting dogmatic thinking, and romanticizing death in the face of life’s numerous lies. Originating from the extinguished flickers of the past, these images acknowledge the bleakness of the future, and seek to transfigure its inevitability into the sparks of hope, notwithstanding the artist’s experience which portends futility of the very metamorphosis.
