Inside the illusion of an ‘impermanent room’ – hidden somewhere on the fringes of the subconscious mind – the answers do not matter. It is all a game in which nobody wins...
Drawing inspiration from various sources – religious art, social realism, physique photography, René Magritte, Jean Cocteau, Sergei Parajanov, Alain Robbe-Grillet, etc – the forty (AI) images hereinafter are intended to operate as frames from a lost, minimalist experimental film created in the 1970s. This peculiar instance of anemoia seeks to blur the boundaries between desire and transcendence, employing the deceitful grammar of ritual to explore identity, sexuality and otherness.
